It is astonishing for those who saw the turmoil of the late 1970's and early 80's to turn on the news and see the roots of another revolution growing. In the 30 years from ending of the Shah's time to today, the Iranians have traded one dictator for another. But, the question that is back at the back of every Americans mind is, what do we do now? To many it seems that the time is right to intervene, to make good with the people of Iran and help them have a truely free Iran. But is it what they want? Our intervening may cause us to walk into another Iraq; at first seemingly easy with public support but then turmoil when we did not leave while the country was in civil war. In the end, Iran's problems must be looked at in a way like our own civil war, delt with by themselves, not with an international force.
